# Hit Builder beta
The Hit Builder tool allows you to "simulate" the data originally collected by the user's activity on the website based on changes in Measurement Protocol (opens new window) . The changes include, for example, adding additional user dimensions (custom Dimensions / Metrics (opens new window)), which will allow you to easily identify the data in the Google Analytics interface. This functionality is used when adding archival data or e.g. remarketing. Based on certain criteria, you can create remarketing groups directly in the extended WitCloud table. The tables can then be sent to Google Analytics and from there conveniently to Google Ads for campaigning.
The module is intended for advanced users - it can not only extend the data, but also change the original table. Recommended caution in use.
# Before you start
Before you can configure Hit Builder, it is necessary to prepare:
- module Collect Google Analytics or Google Analytics 360,
- data that we want to send in a format corresponding to Measurement Protocol.
To do this, prepare a BigQuery query and define it in the Reports Query Jobs process, or save the data as tables in the BigQuery dataset.
# Start creating the module
To create Hit Builder, select the "Process" tab from the menu on the left, then click the "Add new process" button.
Click the "Hit Builder" button
# Initial settings
In field (1) we name Hit Builder. In the next field, select the source of new hits (2), which can be a query previously defined in the query jobs module, or a table saved in BigQuery. Depending on the selected source, in the next steps, define the name of the defined Query Job or the table location in the Google Cloud Project / BigQuery Dataset / BigQuery Table schema.
Data can be sent to Google Analytics or attached to a table in WitCloud. In the case of data saved to WitCloud, select which collection you want to attach the data (5) to, or duplicate records will be duplicated.
To save the configuration, click the "Create" button.
# Setting the module in the schedule
Remember about the schedule !!
Please note that the configured data import process must be included in the Workflow configuration for it to be recalculated.
